(WTVF) — The Metro Public Health Department wants to help those impacted by this shooting, so its Behavioral Health and Wellness Division is making sure people know about the resources it offers. At their offices around the metro, the public health department leaders say they know what these families are going through can be hard so they are working to provide counseling, grief support, and trauma-informed care.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — In the wake of the recent tragedy in Antioch, other organizations impacted by school shootings are responding. As the memorial at the high school continues to grow from the local community, support is coming in from far and wide. The Uvalde Foundation for Kids says they reached out to the Mayor's office and others here in Nashville to offer support. The national nonprofit was formed in response to the Uvalde, Texas 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Public Health Department is offering expanded mental health resources Friday in response to the shooting at Antioch High School. They are offering walk-in sessions at their Woodbine Public Health Center at no cost in both English and Spanish on Friday. They started offering the services Thursday and decided there was such a need, that they expanded it to Friday.

(WTVF) — Metro Police say there were no traditional metal detectors at Antioch High School and we know it's raised some questions for many of you about what measures were in place, so we looked into it. We understand there were no traditional metal detectors, but there is technology at these schools that officials say just wasn't enough. But we do know shatter-resistant window film and security vestibules were installed at entrances last year.

MIDDLE TENNESSEE (WTVF) — In these bitter cold temperatures, power companies are expecting near-record demands for electricity across the Southwest United States. Right here in the Volunteer state, the Tennessee Valley Authority is asking customers to lower their power consumption Wednesday morning. TVA says they are not expecting emergency conditions, but conserving energy Wednesday morning from 6 to 10, can reduce potential strain on the power grid and save customers money.
