China Certification and Inspection Group (CCIC) has reportedly laid off staff at its Singapore affiliate after the unit was sanctioned for facilitating Iranian oil shipments. The Chinese state-owned inspection company’s CCIC Singapore subsidiary notified staff across all appointments on 30 May that they would be terminated the next day, three of the employees told business news site CNA. They said the unit has 400 workers in Singapore and Malaysia.

Navios Maritime Partners has revealed the pricing of a recently reported container ship sale that shows it has tripled what it paid for the 15-year-old vessel. The deal confirms still rising values for vessels of this age in the classic panamax size range. The New York-listed shipowner said it has sold the 4,250-teu Navios Tempo (built 2009) for a gross sale price of $35.5m.
