Florida enacted its shall-issue Right to Carry law that allowed law-abiding adults to purchase a concealed carry license in 1987. In 2008, the U.S. Supreme Court’s D.C. vs. Heller ruling impacted millions of Americans who decided to arm themselves for protection.

The SureFire Suppressor Division was established in 2002. Applying science to advance suppressor technology, the first notable achievement was to improve accuracy potential and repeatability. At the time, U.S. Special Operations units were the primary customers of suppressors on carbines, but impact shift when removing and reattaching a suppressor in a combat environment forced troops to leave cans on their muzzles or forfeit the sound-suppression benefits.

Felons are prohibited from purchasing or possessing body armor, but body armor is legal in most states. Despite questions of constitutionality, New York is the only state that restricts its citizens from purchasing body armor. Federally, using armor in the commission of a crime is illegal, but many states have also passed laws that make it illegal to wear while committing a crime.
