Porches, the project of Aaron Maine, returns today with new single “Rag.” The track is one that sets expectations and flips them: it begins as an acoustic bounce along the road that quickly spirals into the raw and bratty energy of a band playing their first party. “Rag” is accompanied by a video directed by Nick Harwood alongside director of photography Ben Carey. In other news, Porches also announces a headlining show at Brooklyn Steel on November 20.

Mick Harvey has shared new single “We Had An Island,” the track is off his forthcoming album Five Ways to Say Goodbye, that is due out on Mute on May 10, 2024. The new album follows Harvey’s recent collaboration with Mexican artist Amanda Acevedo (who also features on Five Ways to Say Goodbye) and will be accompanied by UK and European tour dates in May and June. The new track is Harvey’s interpretation of Bruno Adams (Fatal Shores)’s “We Had an Island”.

Ahead of the release of their new album Up On Gravity Hill, out April 12th via Sub Pop/Royal Mountain, Metz has shared a video for the John Andrews. directed video for “Superior Mirage,” METZ frontman Alex Edkins shares this of the song, “It’s definitely new territory for us, and I really love the sounds we were able to achieve. We blended a Linn Drum with some homemade samples and made this ad-hoc junkyard drum sound that propels the song along.

Composer/producer, songwriter, and singer Casey MQ has dropped new single “Me, I Think I Found It.” The track is off the multi-artist’s forthcoming album Later that day, the day before, the day before that due June 7th via Ghostly International following the lead single “The Make Believe” featuring Oklou. Elaborating on the meaning behind “Me, I Think I Found It,” Casey shares, “I began writing this song at the piano on the edge of spring quietly as the seasons in Toronto were changing.
