About 60 people gathered in the atrium of the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday to kick off the annual fundraising campaign for the Sackville Hospital Foundation, which this year is entitled “Collaborative Care is Coming”. This year’s campaign is a pivot for the foundation.

The Soul’s Harbour Rescue Mission has expanded into Amherst, and will be serving lunch free of charge every weekday from noon to 2pm at the Amherst Wesleyan Church on Malty Court, about two kilometres from downtown Amherst. Local chef Andrew Harrison says he and a group of volunteers served about 60 people during the ‘soft opening’ of the new soup kitchen last Tuesday.

The federal government has committed $10.1 million dollars to cover nearly half the cost of two major projects in Memramcook, to be constructed in the coming years. Current Beauséjour candidate, and then MP Dominic LeBlanc made the funding announcement with Memramcook mayor Maxime Bourgeois on March 21, just days before the writ was issued to kick off the 2025 federal election.
