    QUAD NB and the Tantramar ATV club have proposed new routes for off-road vehicles to get access to downtown Sackville and the village of Dorchester. The groups are seeking support from Tantramar council before they pursue formal bylaw changes and applications to the provincial departments of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI), and Natural Resources.

    A Sackville housing co-operative is considering using community bonds to help raise the capital needed to get its non-profit housing development off the ground. The Freshwinds Eco-village Housing Co-operative has been working since January 2023 on planning for a 63-unit village style housing development off Fairfield Road in Sackville.

    On today’s show, we talk with Tantramar Regional High School student Josh Mullen, who has secured $30,000 in funding to install a solar panel array at his school. Mullen says a tip for a friend and TRHS alumni led him to apply for funding for the project. He also says he’s hoping some TRHS students will get the experience of participating in the installation of the new solar panels when the time comes.

    The Sikniktuk Climate Adaptation Project is coming to the Tantramar Civic Centre this Thursday evening for a public outreach session to explain the project, which aims to put 100 hectares of coastal land under conservation trust. Environmental Consultant Lyle Vicaire was in Sackville on Tuesday night to tell Tantramar councillors about the event, and CHMA caught up with him after his presentation.
