With all the conference tournaments wrapping up on Sunday, the time is near for the unveiling of the NCAA baseball tournament field. All the suspense will be over when the official bracket is revealed at noon ET on Monday, but for the most part we have a pretty good idea who made the 64-team cut, with aspirations of reaching the ultimate destination of Omaha, Nebraska for the College World Series. With college baseball heading into the final weekend of the regular season, the announcement of the 64-team NCAA tournament field is less than two weeks away. Our latest bracket projection indicates some teams are trending in the right direction, but naturally any upward movement comes at the expense of someone else. As usual, the SEC is front and center. With just a couple of weeks remaining in the college baseball regular season, fans are no doubt beginning to ponder how their favorite team’s path to Omaha might be shaping up. The easiest route, of course, involves being one of the top eight seeds that guarantees regional and super regional hosting rights. It is therefore advantageous if your team happens to be in the upper tier of the SEC standings or very high in the ACC hierarchy.

Strength of schedule is the only reason Alabama finished No. 11 after a 9-3 record that included losses to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.

Where is this narrative coming from that they don’t consider strength of schedule?

This was also true in the BCS era. Every change made was reaction to a perceived slight as part of a quest to find perfect system that didn't exist. Incredibly frustrating.

The most annoying thing about the Playoff Era in college football is every single bad outcome for every single conference every single season turned into a referendum on the viability of the entire system.
