The DNR held an informational public meeting at Izatys recently about Mille Lacs Lake. The meeting included a number of topics from DNR representatives about the big lake, and a segment about the “Keep it Clean” initiative. It was Mille Lacs 101 and included an in-depth look into all that goes into the management of the fisheries on the big lake. The Rogers baseball team used a five-run sixth inning to defeat Elk River 8-4 on May 13, in Rogers. The win improves the Royals record to 9-7, and they currently sit in fifth place in the Northwest Suburban conference. Elk River drops to 6-8 with the loss. The Royals opened the scoring in the third inning when Finley Greenlund scored Carter Shallenberger from third with a sacrifice fly. They extended the lead to 2-0 in the fourth when Mason Anderson scored on a Drew Oldenburg sac fly.
