Photo by Butch Dill/Getty Images Happy Gump Day, one and all. Bet you think there’s not enough news out there. But you’d be wrong; let us dig in. Our first inquiry is whether ‘Bama has decent odds to make the playoffs? Alabama football has not played a snap in 2025. Photo by Elsa/Getty Images For two months, the story of the 2026 Alabama Basketball team has been one of roster uncertainty, specifically whether star freshman PG Labaron Philon would be joining the NBA; if not, whether he would return to Alabama; and what the Tide’s options were if he became a pro or ‘Bama got outbid. Say goodbye to Kennedy Marceaux — in a move that will almost certainly not come back to bite a fetid, stagnating program (and its complacent coaching) right in the ass.

In this case, Judge John Enslen was looking for one of his cousins who had played on those dominant mid-60s Bryant squads. After reading the piece, he was prompted to write down his own thoughts, as a now 78-year-old retired man, and he generously shared them with me.
