    Now What? Renee Dixon has been removed from the BOE. This is definitely a victory for all students and those of us who value equality, diversity, equal opportunity, and inclusion. Just like the Bible verse says (and I’m agnostic so nobody come at me lol) in everything there is a season. We had our time to celebrate justice together. But our work is far from over and we cannot afford to get comfortable and lose steam.

    A military parade is scheduled for June 14th in Washington. It will cost $25-45 million, not counting the costs to DC’s city government for employees, security, clean up, etc. Road repairs from tanks and other heavy equipment will supposedly be at the Army's expense. Last I checked, that means at our expense, since the army is paid from taxes you and I pay. I am happy to have a birthday party for the Army's 250th anniversary, which has been in the works for 2 years.

    Look around you. Are you seeing the United States you’ve pledged allegiance to your whole life? Over 52,000 persons have been killed in Gaza. Millions are completely defenseless against Israel’s weapons of war and mass starvation. The US could leverage its considerable influence, but this administration lacks the moral strength and will to act decisively. Likewise, casualties in the Ukraine-Russia war are staggering.

    Gordon Turner was in possession of an overdue U-Haul and was attempting to escape from police when he jumped a curb. A University of Delaware third-year doctoral student was tragically killed, and others seriously injured. This, of course, should never have happened. Turner was charged with attempted murder in 2023 when he fired shots at a vehicle on Elkton Road. With this incident he faced 32 criminal charges and two counts of attempted murder.
