Creature Keeper is a monster-taming RPG that sends you on an adventure to free the land from an ancient corruption before it destroys all that is natural. Along the way, you tame, befriend, and battle local fauna while filling out your trusty beastiary with knowledge. Something like Pokémon meets The Legend of Zelda, Creature Keeper is built on a solid idea and has some great characters and creature designs.

RailGods of Hysterra is an interesting take on the survival crafting genre, tasking players with surviving a Lovecraftian apocalypse and maintaining a sentient, otherworldly god train as you ride the endless rails. The game is clearly designed with a lot of imagination, and the premise alone will be a major draw for new fans looking for a creative spin on a familiar genre.

Deck of Haunts is a turn-based card puzzle game with some building elements that tasks you with running a deceptively twisted manor. As a living haunted house, your drive is to lure unsuspecting humans into your halls and feed on their essence, either by driving them insane or outright killing them. As far as deckbuilding puzzle games go, Deck of Haunts is certainly unique, built upon an incredibly strong premise that no doubt is the reason you decided to check it out in the first place.

Siegecaster is a unique take on the tower defense genre, going its own way with mechanics and portraying a chaotic, if not colorful, fantasy world that really wants you dead. A bit amateurish, the game has its problems, but it is also clearly designed with love in every single pixel, making a game that stands out in a sea of template-built titles and games with stunning visuals and boring gameplay.

Such an amazing year for game releases. So many new titles sent my way with superficial at worst problems, Really hope we keep this trend going!
