This is the grave of Elmer Ellsworth. Born in Malta, New York in 1837, Ellsworth grew up in Mechanicville and then New York City. In 1859, he moved to Rockford, Illinois. Because he wanted to marry the daughter of a wealthy man, his future father in law in Rockford demanded that Ellsworth get a real job, so he moved to Chicago and started reading for the law. He ended up in Abraham Lincoln’s circle and went to Springfield in 1860.

But I thought this interview with Joan Williams really nailed some truths about messaging and positions on the left that are just as applicable to more mainstream Democrats. And honestly, there’s not that much difference anyway; the left in this country is both irrelevant and for the most part just kinda lefty New Deal on domestic policy.

In fact, his mom pulled him from Catholic school before he could be expelled for questioning the teachers too much! But he was a horrible student anyway and then dropped out of high school. The only thing he really cared about was rock and roll. He had piano and guitar lessons as a child, though he was no great musician and never would be.

The Red Sea Scrolls comprise at least seven logbooks as well as additional economic accounts. The logs alone total more than five metres of continuous text. They record in extraordinary detail the movements and labours of 160 of Khufu’s workers, and provide information on everything from the delivery of food to the procurement of tools.

News flash: @Amazon has ZERO allegiance to the United States. Decades after free trade politicians sold out American workers, Amazon has built an international empire fueled by industrial slavery managed by the Chinese Communist Party. While here in the U.S., it neglects, abuses,
