Elk River High School alum and former Elks girls golfer Anne Datz (née Martin) can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the Elks won the MSHSL Class 3A state girls championship in the spring of 2005. Datz and her sister, Molly Wollak (née Martin), was a senior on the Elks team that won Elk River its first, and as of this spring, only state golf championship.

The 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the NHL's annual postseason tournament, begins on Saturday, April 19. The Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning are two of the 16 teams that will play in the playoffs. One of Ottawa's defensemen is Rogers native Nick Jensen. Jensen and the Senators will battle the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. This is the first matchup between the Leafs and the Sens since 2004, when Toronto won the series in seven games.
