Singer Vehicle Design, the famed Porsche 911 gurus, just became a co-owner of Willow Springs International Raceway. Singer bought the Southern California track along with CrossHarbor Capital Partners, a private equity firm, which has plans to not only keep the track open but also invest in it. The track has been open since 1953 and has hosted NASCAR races, one of the first motorcycle endurance races, and early kart road racing.

On Tuesday, Mercedes announced that the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid Wagon will be coming to the U.S., one of the latest luxury performance station wagons to be sold here. The announcement is part of a small trend. It follows BMW’s prior move to sell the 717 hp M5 Touring here. Audi, meanwhile, also sells the RS 6 Avant GT, which delivers 621 horsepower.

Audi says it’s the first time ever it’s sold prototypes from its factory racing program. An Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro and RS 5 DTM are on offer, Audi said last week. Audi said it expects delivery of the first car to its new owner sometime this summer or fall. The cars are actually rebuilt versions of the original race cars, but each is built with an original chassis.

The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 just got more AMG. Mercedes unveiled on Thursday the new Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Manufaktur Edition, a version of the speedy coupe and cabriolet that is a lively celebration of AMG and a gift to AMG’s many fans. The limited-edition model is to be sold at American dealerships later this year, Mercedes said. The coupe version of the car is painted Graphite Grey Magno with yellow rim flanges and AMG graphics on the side, along with 20-inch AMG wheels.
