After Klepper joked about a theoretical Beyonce Knowles collecting Third Reich memorabilia, Ocasio-Cortez brought the interview back on track and succinctly drilled down to the bottom line: Before Klepper ended the interview, he brought up the orange elephant in the room. Did Ocasio-Cortez think people “were crying,” as Trump claimed, during his recent arraignment on charges of falsifying business records? “Maybe George Santos and Marjorie Taylor Greene were, but not me,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

A little over six minutes into the speech, Trump told the room packed with his rabid supporters that they, not him, were the real targets of the supposed oppressors. "Our enemies are desperate to stop us because they know that we are the only ones who can stop them. They know that this room is so important, the people in this room. They know that we can defeat them," Trump said. "But they’re not coming after me, they’re coming after you and I’m just standing in their way. That’s all I’m doing.

Donald Trump isblaming Mike Pence for the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and he's using some pretty strong logic: If Pence had already been doing what Trump wanted, Trump wouldn't have incited an insurrection. "Had he sent the votes back to the legislatures, they wouldn’t have had a problem with Jan. 6, so in many ways you can blame him for Jan. 6,” Trump told reporters on Monday.
