Within these launches, there are dolls, viral Stanley tumblers, Legos, board games, a cocktail kit, a karaoke machine, pink and green luggage, hairstyling tools, an immersive hotel experience in New York City … and so many more.

Add a touch of run-of-the-mill human narcissism and you get a girl doing a poor imitation of Jerry Seinfeld every time she gets a chance to talk: “ADHD?! What’s the deal with that?!” (Sorry.) The deal with mine is that, like many women, I wasn’t diagnosed until adulthood.

Twenty-four years ago almost to the day, my family emigrated from Caracas, Venezuela, to Miami, Florida. At the same time, in our neighboring country of Colombia, a groundbreaking telenovela was hitting the airwaves. It was called “Yo Soy Betty La Fea,” or “I Am Ugly Betty.” It featured a woman who, after losing her finance job because of her appearance (yes, seriously), finds herself working as a secretary at a fictional fashion house called Ecomoda.
