Humidifiers have been a critical part of my life since I can remember. I’ve been blessed with chronic nosebleeds since childhood, so maintaining moisture in the air is a must. Ever since I moved to LA, I’ve been slacking a bit with my humidifier game. But all of the ones I researched weren’t quite right. Read: they were all kind of ugly. If I’m going to put something in my home that needs to be going almost 24/7, I don’t want to have to hide it.

Since they share a child, they've obviously remained in contact over the years since, especially during lockdown. I’m originally from middle-of-nowhere Michigan, so when I say I know the cold … I know the cold. This is my first winter in LA, and while I don’t miss the white-knuckle driving, salt stains on my shoes, or numb limbs after walking my dog for two minutes, I do miss being able to wear a great coat. Even though it may not get below freezing here, it does get chilly enough for some good outerwear. Plus, I never know when the spirit will move me to take a quick trip up to the mountains.

There’s something about getting older that has forced me to invest in nicer jewelry. It only takes a few rings turning green to realize that fine jewelry actually is worth the investment. Thankfully, we live in an era where that doesn’t mean taking out a loan or sacrificing your firstborn. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s much better to have a few amazing pieces that will always be classics than to have a jewelry box crammed with cheaper, on-trend baubles.
