With book three well and truly submitted (more on that soon!), it’s time for me to share a little bit about what I’ve been working on - Otsumami, my new Substack. My first two books, ‘Japonisme’ and ‘Omoiyari’ came about because of a lifestyle blog I started back in 2014. That blog was where I shared recipes, my random thoughts, tidbits about my friends and family.

I was incredibly lucky to review Sushi Kanesaka in Mayfair for the very first piece I did for Time Out!You can read my review in full on the website, but it was a sensational experience. Muted elegance and simplicity, and the craft behind the omakase was sublime. I was in awe of the incredible team at work there, and I found it utterly inspirational.

The London outpost of Japan’s two Michelin-starred Sushi Kanesaka evokes the spirit of refined hospitality – but it doesn't come cheap. We would be remiss not to mention upfront that the omakase offering at Sushi Kanesaka is priced at £420. Per person. While that might make you wince, on arrival it makes a bit more sense. Located within the 5-star 45 Park Lane Hotel, this is Mayfair sushi at Mayfair prices.

Surely one of you will totter in, running on fumes, utterly hungover from the night before - or at the very least burst into flames the minute you cross the threshold? Last month Matt and I went along to one of Craft Forward’s knit clubs.

If I was @KarenMillen’s PR team I would recommend that she comes out with a range of *cute* breastfeeding clothing (the choices are dire) with a donation to @LaLecheLeagueGB. Just another example of damned if you do, damned if you don’t when it comes to breastfeeding …

I’m currently working on a piece for @DesignMyNight about the best places for sushi in London. What ass some of your favourites? #prrequest #londonfoodies https://t.co/1ZgUkE57Ka

Hi @united @AirportHonolulu, just received a call from my distressed mother about incredibly racist behaviour at the check in counter from your staff. They won’t let her speak to a representative from your team to rectify the issue.
