Well, it’s game day again and Nebraska is in Columbus this time to face Ohio State. The Buckeyes are coming into the matchup following a bye week — everyone has a bye week before Nebraska it seems — and a loss to No. 1 Oregon the week before. More specifically, a 32-31 loss. So, Ohio State is pretty ticked and here come the Huskers. However, Nebraska is also coming into this matchup with its own bone to pick. In this case, it was a 56-7 loss to No. 13 Indiana.

When there are a combined 14 national titles and countless Final Four appearances between the two programs . . . well, it makes sense why. As for the 2024 meeting, the stakes are high once again. Are we surprised? Nebraska (8-1) comes into the match on a hot streak, having most recently swept No. 14 Arizona State.

How often have you heard someone say words are just words and it means little until those words are turned into action? When it comes to Nebraska football specifically, it feels like the one thing I’ve heard over and over leading up to a new season. It’s reasonable too, because a coach or player can say just about anything. Until those words are backed up, well, they’re just words. With that said, coach Matt Rhule is often far more direct in the words he chooses than sometimes we realize.

We’re not even a week into fall camp for Nebraska, but it feels like a lot has happened already. After a long offseason, that’s never a bad thing though, right? Here are a few of the recent highlights that have captured my attention. A practice benefitting 1890 Nebraska, the Huskers’ official collective for name, image and likeness, took place on Saturday. While a first for Nebraska, the Huskers are not alone in taking this kind of approach.
