A Poudre Fire Authority crew rescued a flock of ducklings — in more ways than one — on May 14. Around 7:40 a.m. that morning, PFA's Tower 1 was dispatched to rescue ducklings stuck in a storm drain near the intersection of Laporte and College avenues. When they arrived, they found eight ducklings trapped 4 feet below the street under a sewer grate, according to a PFA news release. After removing the ducklings, the crew waited for their mother to return.

The rally will feature a rotation of 51 food trucks and vendors, with more than 20 stationed along Sheldon Drive in City Park on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to dusk. The 49-year-old woman killed in an April 28 shooting in Berthoud was reportedly struck by a bullet shot into her home at random, according to reporting from 9News. The woman ― who the Larimer County Coroner's Office has since identified as Jennifer Lynn James ― was found in her home with a bullet wound around 11:20 p.m. April 28, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. Responding deputies and a Colorado State Patrol trooper provided first aid, but James died at the scene.
