The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has commenced the enforcement of its annual one-month ban on drumming and noise-making, beginning today, May 12, and set to end on June 12. The ban forms a key part of preparations for the Homowo Festival, a revered cultural celebration of the Ga people. In a statement issued and signed by the Head of Public Affairs, Gilbert Nii Ankrah, the AMA noted that the ban applies to all residents, communities, and institutions under its jurisdiction.
