Academy Award-winning filmmaker Errol Morris incisively probes the darkest chapter in recent American history: family separations. Based on NBC Political and National Correspondent Jacob Soboroff's book, Morris merges explosive interviews with whistleblowing officials and artful narrative vignettes tracing one migrant family's plight. Together, they reveal that the cruelty at the heart of this policy was its very purpose.

Oksana Karpovych, the director of Intercepted, has created a moving and despairing work of art. A great movie.

Some of the greatest films operate from simple premises. Intercepted is a perfect example. The photography captures the physical destruction of a country, but the audio captures something deeper and more alarming -- the moral debasement of the aggressors.

Intercepted, the movie, combines the styles of some of my very favorite film directors. There's a little bit of Tarkovsky, a touch of Wiseman, a hint of Claude Lanzmann and so much more. It's dark, despairing, and endlessly realistic.
