It’s 8:30 a.m. and I’m barefoot on a yoga mat in the gardens of my hotel in Goa, surrounded by the towering red Heliconia plants native to the region. My instructor gently guides me into another pose beneath the cloudless sky. There’s no noise, no rush, just the sound of my breath and the hum of nature. For a weekend that ticks all those boxes, Edinburgh is top of my list.

After several intense weeks, I found myself in serious need of a reset and for me, that could only mean one thing - a countryside spa. I chose The Langley Hotel and Spa in Buckinghamshire, drawn by its reputation for luxurious tranquillity and refined indulgence but this would not just be any treatment, I was booked in to try the Hammam Rassoul experience.
