Husband and I went to a wedding last year near Tarragona in Spain. It might have been the heady thrill of being away on our own without the kids for the first time in a looong time, but we were charmed by the whole area. “We should come back here with the kids,” my husband says, over our fourth cocktail on the rooftop bar, next to the pool. “ ” I slur, chasing my straw around the hollowed-out coconut.

The family and I are on our holibobs in a camping resort. Well, camping is a bit misleading. We’re staying in a lodge with two en-suites — you could hardly call it roughing it, in fairness. Father’s Day is coming up, and if you’re on the hunt for something a little different for any sea-loving dads, Sligo-based Outcrop have nailed it. Their beautifully crafted round wooden 3D maps (€99) are the kind of gift that ticks all the boxes — personal, Irish-made, and eco-conscious. You can even mark a meaningful spot with a solid brass pin or add a custom engraving. We love the Atlantic blue stain (a nod to their coastal roots), and the new natural finish is just lovely.
