Some of Trump’s picks have sparked controversy, starting with Matt Gaetz for Attorney General. Wisconsin also helped the presidential nominee secure the presidency in 2016. The president-elect's final electoral vote total sits at 312.

A former pastor for the Methodist church and a former Opera performer, McGuire was born in Atchison, Kan. but moved to Emporia in first grade.
