A 34-story residential building is set to replace a low-rise slated for demolition, according to city records. A report by Crain’s New York Business revealed that Skyline Developers, a firm established by Orin Wilf in 1999, this week filed permits with the city’s Department of Buildings to construct a new dwelling at 185 East 80th Street (between Third and Lexington avenues). Currently the site of a four-story mixed use building, Skyline wants to erect a 508-foot tower that includes 66 units.

A new dessert spot serving smoothies, shakes, crepes and other sweets had its soft-opening on the Upper East Side on Friday. Shwkulata is located at 415 East 70th Street (between York Avenue and First Avenue), a cozy space with a few counter seats by the window. A sizable chocolate fountain by the register greets customers.

There’s a section of Yorkville where mailboxes seem to be disappearing, much to the bewilderment of locals. A longtime resident brought the issue up to Our Town NY after noticing two that were missing.
