North Texas received a commitment on Thursday from Josiah Shackleford, a former Georgia Southwestern State DII forward who averaged 17 points per game on 56.2% shooting from the field and 7.3 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 season. Shackleford said new Mean Green men's basketball coach Daniyal Robinson reached out to him when he entered the transfer portal while still at Cleveland State, and he was prepared to become a Viking before Robinson took the job in Denton.
