When Jude, the half-brother of Jesus who preferred to identify himself as the Lord’s servant (Jude 1), took up his pen to write his short letter, he did so with intentions to celebrate his common salvation with this intended recipients. Yet, for reasons that threatened the church, his letter took a decidedly critical tone, as he identified the false teachers creeping into the church.
