In an important copyright precedent for software providers, the Ninth Circuit held that interoperability is not enough to create a derivative work without “something more.” Even software that operates exclusively with another’s copyrighted software is not necessarily infringing if it does not copy or incorporate any element of the other software. One person is dead following a desert rescue in Doña Ana County. According to Sunland Park Fire, two individuals called 9-1-1 for help off Bi-National Ave. via a post on X. Border Patrol and Sunland Park Fire assisted Doña Ana Fire Rescue to recover the two individuals. Medical care was initiated at the scene, one person did not survive, and another was taken into custody by Border Patrol. The condition of the survivor is unknown at this time. Sunland Park Fire and Doña Ana Fire Rescue assisted Border Patrol agents in rescuing one individual in the desert near Santa Teresa. The agency confirmed one person is dead, and another, with heat exposure, has been transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. DONA ANA COUNTY, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — CRRUA stated that the wording in a letter mailed to customers may have been confusing about whether or not the water was safe to drink despite arsenic levels being below the maximum. On May 16, a letter was mailed to residents of Sunland Park and Santa Teresa, New Mexico, by the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA), informing customers that arsenic levels were above federal limits.
