The Italy Men’s National Team will be attempting to defend their crown as European champions this summer with Luciano Spalletti leading the team into the 2024 European Championships in Germany. Having won Euro 2020 (in 2021) with a penalty shootout victory over England at Wembley, Italy are theoretically the team to beat in Germany. Having missed out on the World Cup in between these two editions of the Euros, a strong showing is needed to make up for recent disappointment.

AS Roma Women won the 2023/24 Coppa Italia Femminile thanks to a penalty shootout triumph against Fiorentina following a thrilling contest that ended 3-3 after extra-time. The first half of normal time ended 1-1 with Valentina Giacinti and Pauline Hammarlund scoring at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi in Cesena, but an action-packed second half saw La Viola throw away a 3-1 lead which prompted extra time and penalties.

AC Milan have announced that Stefano Pioli will no longer be the coach after the final match of the 2023/24 Serie A season at home against Salernitana, ending an almost five-year stint in charge. Pioli became the Milan coach in October 2019 and managed to deliver the Serie A title in the 2021/22 season, a year in which he was the coach of the season and won coach of the month three times.
