BackgroundOn 27 November 2024, the Scottish Government launched its consultation on “Digital assets in Scots private law”, requesting “views on options for possible legislative changes to Scots private law to clarify the status of digital assets as property”. The consultation underlines both the need for legal certainty for businesses and the importance of Scotland moving with technological developments “to help support economic growth and to allow Scotland to remain attractive for investment”.
