    The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has rescued nine persons from the rubble of a collapsed two-storey building in the state. The incident occurred at about 3pm on Tuesday at Otta-Ona junction, near the Mobile Filling Station bus stop, in Ikorodu. LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident, stating that the agency received a distress call at 2:02pm on Tuesday.

    To attract more vessels of larger capacity into the nation’s ports, the Federal Government, at the weekend gave the nod for the maintenance dredging of the $1.5bn Lekki Deep seaport channel from its present 16.5metres to 17 metres in the first instance as it targets 19 meters depth.
