Waymo, Google’s self-driving robotaxi, is expanding its taxi service in Los Angeles County. The company announced today that its self-driving robotaxis are now available to anyone using its ride-sharing app, Waymo One, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Previously, the service was limited in scope and scale, available only to a subset of applicants. This makes Los Angeles the third city in the U.S. to make the service available to everyone, joining San Francisco and Phoenix.

“Mr. Lee!”It was noon on October 30 at a Mobil gas station in South Los Angeles. More than a hundred people gathered, chanting a Korean American’s name. The gas station was packed with a crowd including Councilmember Heather Hutt, LAPD and LAFD officials, longtime gas station employees, community members, and nearby high school students. A rare dime hidden for decades by a family in Ohio has fetched more than $500,000 at auction. The rare dime sold for $506,250 in an online auction on October 27 after competing for 212 bids, according to Irvine-based auction house Great Collections. Minted at the San Francisco Mint in 1975, the dime is one of only two coins made without the San Francisco Mint’s letter āSā mark on the obverse, which has the face of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
