PRIME minister Anthony Albanese says renewables companies must "do better" at consulting with regional communities who will host developments such as solar and wind farms. Mr Albanese was the keynote speaker at the Bush Summit event held in Tamworth on Friday, August 11, where protesters against the development of transmission lines, solar farms and wind farms gathered.

RESIDENTS on an Oxley Vale street have been left unsatisfied with how organisation Homes North has dealt with a troubled tenant. A total of 21 paper complaints were made to Homes North describing incidents of trespass, harassment, damaged property and stress at the hands of a neighbour. Residents of Drummond Road say they continue to be visited by a problem neighbour who was removed.

BENDEMEER, population less than 500, was a close knit community before a potential solar farm stirred up debate, resident Jackson Walden said. He moved into the village on the Macdonald River in the New England region of NSW in 2016, to escape "the hustle and bustle". "This was our forever home," he said. But plans for a solar farm submitted to the state government last month outline more than 400,000 solar panels could be developed on the hill opposite his property, visible out the front door.

PRIME minister Anthony Albanese welcomed news that China will receive Australian grain exports, on a barley farm in Loomberah during his visit to Tamworth to speak at the Bush Summit. It's a great announcement for Australia's farmers, and for the national economy, he said. A breakthrough in trade relations saw China drop punitive tariffs on barley producers and on Australia's largest two barley producers, CBH and Emerald Grain, earlier this week.
