    Although Mexico has yet to legislate policies for the green hydrogen industry, the Mexican Hydrogen Association estimates there are about USD 20bn in private initiatives in the country to produce energy using green hydrogen or some derivative. Association President Israel Hurtado, whose group has mapped about a dozen projects, highlighted that the growth in green hydrogen initiatives is driven by nearshoring, which is also stimulating construction and new infrastructure in Mexico.

    The Metropolitan Bus Services Office (OMSA) on the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic is one of the latest Latin American authorities with plans to acquire and implement electric or e-buses to replace gasoline and diesel vehicles.  Rafael García, the deputy director of OMSA, has said the agency anticipates deploying the first electric buses in operation as part of a pilot plan between January and March 2024.

An immigration enforcement operation at @laconcharesort in San Juan, Puerto Rico, led to the arrest of 53 construction workers believed to be undocumented, according to Special Agent Rebecca Gonzalez-Ramos. The resort is partially owned by billionaire investor John Paulson.
