ARLINGTON — The Rangers have come to a point in this baffling season that we’re not sure we’ve seen before. Let’s call it: The triage phase. Whatever ails the offense is, at the moment, untreatable. Other patients become priorities. Like the care and well-being of the array of aces in the starting rotation, which is why Bruce Bochy lumbered to the mound to pull Jacob deGrom from a seemingly winnable, but ultimately predictable, 2-1 loss to Toronto Monday at Globe Life Field.

The Rangers will NOT place Chris Martin on the IL today. They will give this at least one day. They would like to have him for Houston/NYY

All this said, won’t be surprised if this still ends as IL to make sure it’s not something significant

Chris Martin says MRI results were positive. He will try to play catch today. He is currently listed on the lineup card
