Chancerygate has bought a two-acre site in Old Trafford, Manchester, to speculatively develop logistics scheme with a gross development value of around £15m. The site, which sits less than one mile from Manchester city centre, is adjacent to the Bridgewater Way arterial route. It was acquired from real estate investor Landmark Group. The 53,000 sq ft grade A scheme, to be known as UrbanX, will offer two warehouses measuring 30,200 sq ft and 22,800 sq ft.

DTZ Investors has instructed Stockford Anderson to find new owners for The Electric Press in Leeds. The landlord is seeking £10.1m for 54,387 sq ft mixed-use block. If transacted at the asking price, the deal would reflect 10.2% initial yield. The grade II-listed building sits within Leeds’ Civic Quarter, overlooking Millennium Square, and is home to leisure occupiers including Revolution Bars, Be at One and Tavernaki Bistro.

Prologis UK has secured Top Cloud Logistics as the latest occupier at its Birmingham logistics park. The Chinese e-tailer has signed a 15-year lease on DC6, a 164,103 sq ft facility that sits within Prologis Park Midpoint in the North East of the city. The facility was designed with sustainability in mind, achieving an EPC A+ rating and BREEAM Excellent certification. The deal means that the park is now 100% occupied.

Savills is to grow its lettings operations, covering the upper end of the rental market, with Stevie Walmesley appointed to lead the expansion. Walmesley joins Savills from DDRE, having previously spent 10 years with Knight Frank, where she specialised in the very top-end of the London lettings market and, latterly, sat as part of the company’s private office.

Evans Randall Investors has agreed to pre-let with 3M at MIRA Tech Park in the Midlands. The tech firm will occupy half of soon to be built 34,000 sq ft facility on a 10-year term. The building is expected to be ready for occupation by the end of this year. In the meantime, 3M has relocated to interim accommodation at the park. The development, known as plot 44, combines office and technical space, targeting BREAAM Outstanding certification.
