WALVIS BAY – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has seized a weighbridge and other assets valued at over N$2 million as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged corrupt practices involving a Roads Authority (RA) official and a private supplier. The alleged corruption, according to a search warrant seen by New Era, took place between December 2021 and July 2022 at the RA’s Walvis Bay weighbridge.

WALVIS BAY – Walvis Bay mayor and IPC vice president Trevino Forbes claims political interference within the municipality continues to cripple service delivery in the harbour town. WALVIS BAY – Seven people died as a result of vehicle accidents and suicide over the long weekend, while one person is reportedly missing in the Erongo region. A driver has been charged with culpable homicide as well as drunk driving after being involved in an accident that killed five people on the Karibib-Okahandja road. He is expected to appear in the Karibib Magistrate’s Court today facing these charges. Police confirmed on Friday that the driver of a white Jetta, tested positive for alcohol.
