    The city of St. Petersburg has launched its “Safe Summer” series of events beginning with a block party Saturday, at Campbell Park Recreation Center, complete with education on violence prevention, snacks and family-friendly activities. The event officially kicked off the “Safe Summer” series, which will continue with “Safe Summer Fridays” held every other Friday, from June 14 through August 9, from 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., at Lake Vista Recreation Center located at 1401 62nd Ave. South.

    The Tampa Bay Bowl Association has announced that Greg Orchard has been elected to the post of Chair of the Board of Directors of the ReliaQuest Bowl, a college bowl game held annually, in Tampa. Orchard is a former CPA and retired as chief financial officer of Visit Tampa Bay. He has previously served as vice chair and treasurer of the bowl board and has been a volunteer and a member of the Board of Directors for thirty-five years.

    The Clearwater Community Sailing Center has announced that Clearwater native, and lifelong member of the center, Noah Lyons has qualified to represent the USA in the IQ Foil Windsurfing Class, at the 2024 Olympic Games, in Paris. Lyons, who began his sailing career at the age of 6 with the Optimist class, has risen through the ranks of competitive sailing. He transitioned from youth sailing to competitive windsurfing in classes such as Techno293, Kona and RSX.
