A consortium including Hong Kong’s CK Infrastructure Holdings Ltd. agreed to acquire Northern Ireland’s largest gas distributor, Phoenix Energy, in a deal with an enterprise value of HK$7.4 billion ($945 million). The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of this month, according to a statementBloomberg Terminal late Wednesday from the buying group. The consortium also includes CK Asset Holdings Ltd. and Power Assets Holdings Ltd.

China’s securities regulator said it will encourage listings by the nation’s companies in Hong Kong as it unveiled a package of measures to bolster the city’s position as an international financial hub. The China Securities Regulatory Commission said Friday it will support initial public offerings by leading Chinese firms in Hong Kong, as well as loosen rules on stock trading links between the city and mainland exchanges, according to a statement.

(Bloomberg) -- China slammed a US plan to impose new restrictions on its steel and aluminum products, saying it will take action to protect the country’s interests. The US is “arbitrarily slapping tariffs on Chinese products,” politicizing economic issues and undermining the security of the global supply chain, the Ministry of Commerce said in the statement on Thursday. China urges US to stop increasing tariffs and pledges to take all necessary measures to defend its rights, it said.
