4. DiscussionOur results revealed that AgNPs samples evaluated have a selective and cytotoxic effect against cancer cell lines (). Selectivity of AgNPs against tumor cell lines was shown by comparing the cytotoxic effect on non-cancer fibroblasts 3T3L1 line, which turned out to be up to 16 times more resistant to AgNPs samples than cancer cell lines. Furthermore, the three AgNPs samples evaluated have a SI > 1, demonstrating the need for further research regarding their use to treat cancer.
