The data used in this study derived from the following sources: MIMIC-III [16], a single-center database from patients admitted at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston (MA) from 2001 to 2012 (61,532 admissions, 46,476 distinct patients). In our exploration, we made use of the improvements introduced in MIMIC-III v1.4, released on September 2, 2016 [17].
