Artists who are based in Geneva and interested in science and technology are invited to apply. The Resonance residency is a unique opportunity for an artist to embark on a fully funded two-month residency at CERN in 2025.

    At the beginning of the year, in order to make our ethics-related framework more easily accessible, the HR department grouped all the relevant information and resources under a single point of reference at https://hr.web.cern.ch/ethics. To go further and ensure that every CERN staff member is aware of the guidelines of our ethical framework, the HR department has developed an e-learning course titled “Ethics at CERN”, now available in English and French on the CERN Learning Hub.

    Today, the CERNCouncil selected British physicist Mark Thomson as the Organization’s next Director-General. The appointment will be formalised at the December session of the Council and Professor Thomson’s five-year mandate will begin on 1 January 2026. “Congratulations to Professor Mark Thomson on his selection as the next CERN Director-General from January 2026,” said CERN’s President of Council, Professor Eliezer Rabinovici. “I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the exceptional candidates.
