1 INTRODUCTION End-of-life care and palliative care are two terms that are often used interchangeably but they have distinct differences (Ryan et al., 2020). Palliative care is intended for patients who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness but may not be likely to die soon (WHO, 2023).
