Britain’s competition watchdog has commenced investigations into Google’s dominant position in the search engine market as well as its impacts on consumers and businesses. According to the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), the investigation comes under the new digital markets competition regime which came into force on 1 January 2025.
