The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday expressed strong disapproval regarding the N4.2 billion allocated in the 2024 budget for personnel costs at Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited, citing concerns over unverifiable workers. The 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja are set to receive 1,184,000 25kg bags of rice from the Federal Government as part of the palliative measures to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal. Each state as well as the FCT will be receiving 32,000 bags of 25kg rice from the 20 trucks per state that have been announced by the Federal Government.
