According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), global energy demand is projected to increase by more than 30 % by 2040. Furthermore, a predominant share of this energy will derive from fossil fuels [1]. Human development continues to heavily depend on fossil fuels, resulting in a consistent rise in CO2 emissions annually [2], [3]. In 2023, CO2 emissions reached 37 billion tons, contributing to an approximate 1.0 °C global temperature increase [4], [5].
