    The percentage of females admitted into the Nigerian Correctional Centre increased to 4.82 per cent in 2022, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). This is contained in the NBS Statistical Report on Women and Men in Nigeria 2022 released in Abuja on Wednesday. The report showed that in 2020, the percentage of females admitted into the Nigerian correctional centre stood at 4.90 per cent, then dropped to 4.48 per cent in 2021 and increased to 4.82 per cent in 2022.

    The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has raised the country’s baseline lending rate by 150 basis points to 26.25 per cent. Mr Yemi Cardoso, the Governor of CBN said this on Tuesday in Abuja, while reading the communique from the 295th meeting of the MPC. This is the third consecutive tightening of the lending rate, known as the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) by the MPC under Cardoso.
