A Dublin Airport contract worker’s action seeking to stop DAA from blocking his access to the airport has been resolved, the High Court has heard. Colm Dunne’s action against the airport operator was the second set of High Court proceedings to arise from an incident in which the IT systems engineer told an Aer Lingus customer services check-in representative to “f**k off”. It was Mr Dunne’s case that he was being blocked by DAA from accessing the airport on foot of the incident.

Companies linked to the businessman Colm Wu are allegedly owed up to €3 million by the Department of Justice for providing accommodation to Ukrainian refugees, the High Court has heard. David Whelan SC, appearing for the liquidators of several of Mr Wu’s firms, on Thursday asked Mr Justice Mark Sanfey to make a direction compelling Mr Wu to provide documents supporting the claim that up to three of his firms are owed the money.

An Irish payroll manager who admitted to “spying” on his own firm for a rival company has avoided punishment for “blatantly” contravening orders of the High Court. Keith O’Brien had faced the possibility of going to jail for contempt of court orders made by Mr Justice Mark Sanfey – namely, destroying a phone he had been ordered by the court to preserve.

An education and training board that allegedly fired a school principal on foot of sexual harassment allegations made against him has agreed to temporarily restore him to its payroll, the High Court has heard. In August 2021, a female colleague made a written complaint of harassment and sexual harassment arising from text messages sent by the principal, according to court documents.
