レッドブルの角田裕毅は、F1サウジアラビアGPのフリー走行2回目終盤にクラッシュを喫し、赤旗中断の原因となった。このクラッシュについて角田は「最終コーナーで曲がり過ぎてしまった」と説明した。 FP2の残り時間が9分を切った頃、角田はロングランを行なっていた。そんな中最終コーナーイン側（左側）のウォールに左フロントホイールを当ててしまい、サスペンションを破損。そのままコントロールを失い、コーナーアウト側（右側）のウォールに激しく激突してしまった。 角田自身は幸いにも無傷だったものの、マシンには大きなダメージが及んだ。角田はすぐに無線で、金曜日の夜に修復作業が必要となるスタッフに謝罪の言葉を述べた。 「曲がり過ぎてしまったせいでイン側のウォールに接触し、ダメージを負ってしまいました」 角田はF1 TVでクラッシュについてそう説明した。 「それでコントロールを失ってしまいました。チームに申し訳ないと思います。状況は良さそうだったので、本当に残念です」...

Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda says his own mistake led to the crash that curtailed Jeddah FP2 running, admitting he "turned too much" in the final corner. With under nine minutes on the clock Tsunoda tagged the inside wall at the final hairpin coming onto the main straight, which appeared to break his track rod and left him unable to avoid clattering into the exit wall.
